Now that you have finished your stay at a Florida sober house does not mean that you have to dread St. Patrick’s Day. In fact, it can even be an opportunity to try new and different things that can easily become your new St. Patrick’s Day tradition for the next coming years!
Holidays such as New Year’s, the Fourth of July, and any other event that is typically associated with drinking will no longer mean that you have to stay indoors and wait until it is all over. Use these holidays instead to celebrate your strength in your sobriety, and to help inspire your friends who are fresh out of a Boca Raton, Florida sober living home on how they do not have to miss out on celebrating life simply because they are sober.
Make sure to check out this list from Boca House of three tips for a sober St. Patrick’s Day – trust us, you will wish you had read it sooner!
1. Try another Irish pastime (besides drinking). Believe it or not, but the Irish’s hobbies extend far beyond enjoying pint after pint of green beer. This coming St. Patrick’s Day, try celebrating by playing a round of golf, watching an Irish dancing show, or cooking a traditional Irish meal.
2. Throw a sober St. Patrick’s Day Party. Who says that because you just finished your stay at a Florida sober house, that you no longer know how to have fun? This year, throw a sober St. Patrick’s Day party that you and all of your sober friends will actually be able to remember.
3. Agree to be a designated driver. There is no better way to remind yourself of why you made the decision to enter into a Florida sober house to begin with other than by driving around a bunch of drunk people all night. Keep your friends safe while still spending time with them by volunteering to be the designated driver this coming St. Patrick’s Day.
